Posada El Betel makes its lakefront position the whole point of the stay, sitting roughly 50 metres from Lago San Roque with pool and garden views from every room and a patio that turns a morning coffee into an actual lake view. Rooms are adults-only, with a flat-screen TV, air conditioning and private bathrooms that include a bidet and towels, while an outdoor pool covers the daily swim the reservoir itself cannot offer. The Cuckoo Clock landmark sits 100 metres away and the bus terminal six blocks off, keeping the posada close to the town center despite its quiet lakefront feel. That fifty-metre gap between the patio and the water is what separates a genuine lake district lodge from a hotel that simply advertises lake proximity from several blocks away.
